  1. If they think it will disappear just like that l would say they will be disappointed.

    • Keep the pressure on!!!

  2. Ms Boothby thank you as Minister I am sure your assumption is correct, because you are the Minister and honest and transparent. From my perspective as a Tax payer it does not look right..please explain further your assumption so I can understand.

  3. This Is The End Of The CLP.

There is no contesting the 2028 election for the CLP.
There is no contesting any by-election as the new MLA’s think about how they want to be remembered or if they want there name associated with the last CLP Administration!!!

CLP branded Federal wannabe Lisa Baylis may as well as pack up shop and apply for a job at McDonalds, under a different name.

  4. So sad to see my vote has been wasted and even abused. I feel so disapointed after feeling so high when the CLP won.

  5. Nothing to see here!

Reminds me of this classic clip from Naked Gun:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKnX5wci404

“I’ve read through the briefing and I have made my own assumption,” she said. “I am the Minister, I make the decisions of what happens under my ministries.” *stamps feet on the floor like a 4 year old*

Sure you do, and it’s called a conclusion, not an assumption, you dummy.

Dummy as in stupid and dummy as in a real dummy, a ventriloquist’s dummy, with Sam’s wife/your boss standing behind you with her hand up your assumption.

Want to know something even funnier than this latest tragicomedy?

The Governance Institute of Australia have a conference on 8 November 2024. Alastair Shields was an expert guest speaker. His area of expertise?

Before you get your thinking hats on, recall his recent interview to the ABC where he stated on camera that he had taken gifts and patronage from the corporate bookmakers he’s supposed to be regulating:

“It comes after the chair of the NT Racing and Wagering Commission (NTRWC) — which regulates 36 Australian bookmakers — conceded he has attended the Darwin Cup as a guest of gambling companies.”

Alastair’s expertise for this 2024 Governance Forum was…..and no, we’re not making this stuff up:

Panel: The importance of compliance •

    The learning from failures
    Enhances customer trust
    Increases business revenue
    Improves internal processes
Protects the company from legal action

Duncan Poulson, NT Regional Commissioner, ASIC
    Matthew Ward, Partner, KPMG
Alastair Shields, Commissioner, Licensing NT Chair
Melia Barrie, Director Governance, Department Trade, Business and Asian Relations

    It also states that Alastair:

“(and he) provides specialist commercial legal services to a number of private sector and Government Clients.”

Another glass of champagne Sam? Cheers everyone. Job done.

    • I trust you all had a relaxing Easter,
Is there just one Territorian that expected a different outcome!
      Lia’’s Response- TV adverts
Let’s show our appreciation for her efforts on may 3.

  6. Didn’t take the CLP long to revert to the Giles era.
Obviously not interested in governing for more than one term.

  7. “I looked through all of that information. I did not find anything which led me to believe there was undue process. So, I have now closed this matter.

“There will not be an internal inquiry, there will not be an external inquiry. There will be no inquiry about these allegations.”

See ya Boothby! The chance of you getting re-elected or taken seriously ever again, is now closed.

    • Go for broke now CLP flunkies because there will be no second term.

  8. If someone grows a pair soon, we believe BOoTHby of you condescending LiaRs could be criminally charged under this section of NT Criminal Code Act 1983:

    Division 3
    Parties to Offences

    13 Accessories after the fact

    (1) A person who receives or assists another who, to his knowledge, has committed an offence in order to enable him to escape prosecution becomes an accessory after the fact to the offence.

    (2) The rule of law under which a wife cannot be an accessory after the fact to an offence committed by her husband is abolished.

LiaR and Sam and Alastair and Greg and all your other Government mates will understand that. Boothby, you’re got no chance.

Andrew Kirkman, you won’t be protected forever, you may run but you can’t hide for long.

The law will catch up with you one day, the sooner the better.

  9. No more CLP but do we want the last lot back. I suggest neither as one appears to be as bad as the other. The NT was always known as a mob of cowboys running the show. A mob of cowboys on the booze would do better as it turns out.

    • Hang in there @GBC, there’s a new Party taking shape, with whistleblowers and legally trained minds for some radical legislative reform and different political thinking about how Government should work. We think many Territorians will like what they see. Finally, an end to this corrupt, lying, Tick loving Political dungheap.

And no it’s not One Nation. In our household’s opinion, Pauline Hanson and her ideas are repugnant and we don’t want to see them rush in to fill the void left by this 2 main party mess. Sorry @Darren Nugent, nothing personal.

As a bare minimum, we believe Territorians deserve much better than One Nation too and our friends are planning to collect the best brains and ideas from local communities Territory wide.

Then through dialogue and determination, to fashion them together into a working alternative for all of us normal, fair minded people who are consistently appalled by the words and deeds of this CLP bunch of bullshitters, to support and buy into.

The ALP bunch of bullshitters will be back, trust us. Just listen to Selena Uibo, she clearly hasn’t learned anything at all, just spewing out more of the same wearisome nothing-burgers.

      • Sounds encouraging. Like you, we would never vote for One Nation.
I would wish Selena well too, but as a friend the family I won’t comment further.

  10. Sack NTG CLP A-G Marie-Clare Boothby as she has lied & deceived the public by burying evidence. Boothy has no legal qualifications therefore is unfit for this role. Darwin Waterfront owners have had enough of the graft & corruption by these entitled NTG bullies.

  11. 4 questions for Minister
What are you trying to hide?
    Did Kirkman resign?
What payment other than long service leave did he receive. Was he told he was not going to be renewed thereby becoming eligible for a 6 month salary payment?
Why are you taking the heat for others?

  12. “Appalled” is where we started. “Flabbergasted” where now are. “All” Anticipation, whilst we wait. Clear minds, deep “angers” building.
On edge . . . “Clock” now begins to tick. “Territorians” all in ranks.
Together . . . “stamp” our feet. Commence “demand” . . . from whence powers of the “ADMINISTRATOR” . . . must speak?

  13. An ‘assumption’ is not a finding of fact. A finding of fact is based on evidence. The Minister is carefully choosing her words The Minister is using words such as ‘read through’ and ‘look through’.

  14. NT Minister Marie Clare Boothby won’t ban gambling company gifts to NT Regulator Alastair Shields after declaring free Darwin Cup tickets.
The NT’s Racing minister – who had her tickets to the Darwin Cup paid for by online betting companies – has confirmed she will not ban gifts from the industry ahead of a major review.

  15. Its Official.
    Clown Town Activated!

I could have sworn that the Territory could not get more incompetent politicians than the Labour Michael Gunner/Natasha Fyles/Eva Lawler total and utter failures.

One brave Lia Finocchiaro, of Humpty Doo, stepped up and said “Hold My Beer”
