Four teens busted for liquor theft ramraid with stolen car

Four 14-year-olds have been arrested and charged after allegedly stealing a car from the northern suburbs and using it to ramraid a bar in the Darwin CBD overnight before fleeing with a “large quantity of alcohol”, NT Police said.

Police received a report of a stolen white Nissan Navarra dual cab from a Leanyer residence around 2:50am Monday.

The vehicle was later allegedly used in a ramraid of a licence premises on Buffalo Court an hour later that resulted in the alleged theft of the alcohol.

Police said the vehicle was discovered later driving dangerously in Winnellie but a brief pursuit was called off due to safety concerns. It was later found abandoned in Gunn with the stolen alcohol in the back of the vehicle.

The four teens were arrested on Monday afternoon.

“Detectives from Strike Force Trident arrested four males this afternoon all aged 14. They are expected be charged later today,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland

“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information is urged to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference number 10008825.”
