Disgraced former NT Police detective Wayne Newell has been sentenced after pleading guilty to one count of using a carriage service to harass as part of a strange case that the NT Police top brass attempted to keep out of the public spotlight.
Newell played a lead role as senior detective in the flawed investigations into former NT Police constable Zach Rolfe and former children’s commissioner Colleen Gwynne, with allegations previously raised that he engaged in manipulating evidence in the Rolfe murder trial.
