A large bushfire at Darwin River earlier this month that destroyed one home and several vehicles “appears to be accidental”, the NT Police have concluded after previously describing the fire as “suspicious”.

A large-scale multi-agency response to the bushfire involved helicopters and other aircraft occurred just before 1pm on August 8 in the vicinity of Leonino Road, where a large area was burnt with damage to property, with no inuries being reported after people were forced to flee the area.
