A joint funding announcement of $1.35 million from the five-year-old Darwin City Deal will “transform” Darwin’s laneways and minor streets to be more attractive and enticing places for locals and visitors, the Fyles Government has said.
The action plan, which will coordinate present and future upgrades and investments in several laneways and smaller streets in Darwin’s CBD, is part of the 10-year Darwin City Deal agreed upon in 2018 between all three levels of government, amounting to $200 million aimed at transforming the NT’s capital into a vibrant and habitable urban area.
