Outback chalet-style Finniss River Lodge has opened its doors to guests as the Top End’s newest all-inclusive adventure destination.

The six-suite lodge, a 90-minute drive or 25-minute charter flight from Darwin, offers top-level accommodation complete with a wet-edge pool, and inspired dining where meals are cooked to guests’ personal preference using only the freshest farm gate produce.

Finniss River Lodge is located on the lush floodplains and waterways of the 20,000ha Finniss River Station — a working cattle property — which has been developed by the Venturin family, featuring sprawling views of the Australian landscape, including dry savannah, vast wetlands, and paperbark forests.

Guests will also have to opportunity to experience station life, and have adventure, including airboat rides or barramundi fishing, and learn about Indigenous culture in nearby Litchfield National Park.

The lodge is also considered a birdwatcher’s paradise, including flocks of magpie geese in their thousands and brolgas. And is a haven for camera enthusiasts with photogenic morning mists, spectacular sunsets and natural fauna.

The district also abounds with other wildlife including saltwater crocodiles.

“Our service is real and genuine, combining 5-star style with country hospitality. Our guests will get to meet personalities both from the working station and the local area,” Finniss River Lodge director of operations Matthew Hurley said.

Mr Hurley said that one of the lodge’s signature events is the ‘Cows & Canapés’, where guests enjoy amazing canapés and drinks while meeting some of the station team and their bovine friends.

Owner Robert Venturin said the Finniss River Station has operated since 1987 as a grazing property for Brahman cattle.

Prices for Finniss River Lodge include all meals and guests can select beverages and activities per day on a twin-sharing basis. Wi-Fi is also available.
