The Federal and NT governments have signed an agreement establishing a 10-year remote housing partnership which aims to halve overcrowding in Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory by 2034.
The $4 billion agreement, signed in the remote community of Milikapiti on the Tiwi Islands last week, commits both levels of governments to work with all four NT Land Councils and Aboriginal Housing NT to improve existing housing, build culturally appropriate houses, and meet the Territory’s climate challenges.
