Jetstar has said it will add an extra 54,000 Northern Territory seats from April to October, including on flights between Darwin and other capitals as well as Bali, but with 40 per cent of the seats being on flights between Sydney and Uluru, the company has announced.

Customer manager Jenn Armor said the 54,000 seats represented a 12 per cent increase on existing services, with 22,000 of the new seats on the Sydney to Uluru route, from an extra two flights a week.

The company will also begin flying larger Airbus A321neo LRs between Darwin and Bali, which will mean 2,200 additional seats on the route between August and October, and the same plane will fly between Darwin and Adelaide.

Ms Armor said Jetstar would increase weekly services during periods of higher demand between Darwin and Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, and upgrade from an A320 to larger A321ceo aircraft between Darwin and Melbourne from July 3.

She said one way fares between Darwin and Bali start from $163, Darwin to Brisbane from $153, Darwin to Melbourne from $202, and Darwin to Sydney from $215.

“Adding more than 52,000 low fares seats between the NT and four Australian capitals and Bali will give Territorians greater choice and travel options over coming months,” Ms Armor said.

“We’re incredibly excited to be flying the newest aircraft in our fleet, the Airbus A321neo LR, on the popular Darwin to Adelaide and Bali routes from August.”
