Deputy Chief Minister Nicole Manison will spend more than $65,000 of taxpayer money to lead a trade delegation to India next week, her office has revealed, which it said would include two ministerial staff, three industry department staff and one “representative” from the Department of Chief Minister.
The trip to Mumbai, Chennai and Kerala from Sunday to Friday will also include five members of the “Darwin Indian business community” to promote the Territory as “a wonderful place to live work and invest”, although it was unclear if taxpayers will also pick up the tab for the five citizens.
