Chief Minister Eva Lawler has drawn the ire of environmental groups and traditional owners after the NT Government granted environmental approvals for Tamboran Resources to start fracking the Beetaloo Sub-basin, with critics calling on the Federal Government to enact water trigger laws to stop the project from proceeding.
The government quietly announced late on Thursday through state media that it had approved the gas giant’s environmental management plan to construct four exploration and appraisal sites at the natural gas field south of Darwin, that will also see drilling and flow testing of up to 15 wells.
This Labor government has let down everyone in the Northern Territory including its own Labor party members.
