Nine people have been arrested in Alice Springs after two separate incidents in which four males, including one armed with an edged weapon, broke into a house and five males, armed with edged weapons and metal poles, broke into a caravan, threatening residents and stealing car keys in both cases, NT Police said.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 1:50am Friday, four males, one armed with an edged weapon, broke into a house on Bloomfield Street in Gillen and demanded the 26-year-old occupant’s car keys.
