  1. If your a NT Public Servant, you should be triple checking your pay fortnightly!
The larger than life ph@t @rsed HR Executives have overseen several Payroll mistakes in the last decade not including several Superannuation stuff ups!

And how they are treating the ex Firies today is how they will treat you tomorow!

  2. It is contended that the conduct by the Northern Territory Government and the NT Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment and NT Department of Corporate and Digital Development and NT Fire and Emergency Services contravenes section 19 (eb) – employment status – and section 1 definition of work – (k) a person of a prescribed class, of the Anti-Discrimination Act (NT) as well contravening the general protections provisions of the Fair Work Act (Cth), being sections 342 (1) (b), 342 (1) (c), and 342 (1) (d) of the Fair Work Act (Cth) in relation to their differential treatment.

It is also contended that the former and retired NT fire fighters can also lodge via their union, lawyer/s, paid agent/s and or individually a Form 8C to the Fair Work Commission, pursuant to section 372 of the Fair Work Act (Cth), alleging contraventions of the general protections provisions of the Fair Work Act (Cth) by the Northern Territory Government and the NT Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment and NT Department of Corporate and Digital Development and NT Fire and Emergency Services.

It is also contended that the decisions of Commissioner Riordan dated 22 March 2024 the Full Bench decision dated 22 May 2024 are an industrial relations dispute settlement outcome as defined in sections 341 (2) (a) and 341 (2) (j) of the Fair Work Act (Cth) and in conjunction these section constitute a “workplace right” in conjunction with section 341 (1) (c), of the Fair Work Act (Cth) for former and retired NT fire fighters.

By not applying the entire decision outcome [industrial relations dispute settlement outcome] backdated to the year 1988 for former and retired NT fire fighters, being the decisions of Commissioner Riordan dated 22 March 2024 and the Full Bench decision dated 22 May 2024 are as defined in sections 341 (2) (a) and 341 (2) (j) of the Fair Work Act (Cth), which are not statute barred, and it can be contended it is also contraventions of the general protections provisions of the Fair Work Act (Cth), being sections 342 (1) (b), 342 (1) (c), and 342 (1) (d) of the Fair Work Act (Cth), in relation to their differential treatment of former and retired NT fire fighters.

    • That is a hell of a long explanation of why you are paid to sleep at work.

      • Hello Boof, I wish to enlighten you on NT firefighter Mr. Manny Koulakis, who has been a Northern Territory firefighter since the year mid-1995, and was recognised by the Governor-General of Australia with a Group Bravery Citation for his actions during the rescue of two people at East Point in Fannie Bay Darwin Northern Territory in the year 2006.

As you can see Boof, it is a fact that NT firefighers save Territorians lives and save Territory homes and buildings from being burnt down. Unlike others workers who can go home to sleep NT firefighter need to be be based at an NT Fire station on standby even when sleeping overnight so they can ready themselves more efficiently to prepare for to save Territorians lives and save Territory homes and buildings from being burnt down.

I do not agree with the comment you have made about NT firefighters and I also note your comment about my understanding of the relevant provisions of the Fair Work Act (Cth) that applies in relation to NT firefighters who were directed to work additional hours by seniors executives in the NT Public Service and had the additional hours they worked not being paid, in the thousands of hours collectively, and simply having these thousands of hours collectively being wiped by seniors executives in the NT Public Service, also has not gone unnoticed.

        • You took Professor Boofby’s bait Lucio.

      • My aunt and uncle used to have a dog named Boof – rhodesian ridgeback x bull mastiff. Not much in the way of brains but obedient as anything – obviously thrashed into line as a pup. Sadly one day a turkey carcass got stuck in her guts and it killed her.

Whatever they’re feeding you Boof, I hope it doesn’t have bones in it…

  3. Wait Wait Wait!

    I dont get it!

The current CLP Administration can find the money for:
    (1) Spend $150,000 to send some Hockey Players to Malaysia (NT news article).
    (2) Spend $ on the Empowerment Through Energy Program for four Timorese energy professionals undertake a three-month internship with the Northern Territory Department of Mining and Energy from September 2025.
    (3) Spend $216m on a Kakadu tourism package
    (4) Spend $ on the NT Talent Academy under-16s AFL programme
    (5) Spend obscene $ on the Darwin Festival
    (6) Spend $ on the National Indigenous Fashion Awards
    (7) The Attorney-General’s department spent $1,917,860 throughout the Rolfe inquiry, while the NT police spent $5,495,078 for a total of over $7million for 1 inquest!
    (8) $100,000 on the Cavanagh Street Shade Structure, annually solely for Maintenance!
    (9) $1 million annually for Eels to play in the NT Annually
    (10) The former ALP Gov spent t $366,858 flying ministers to events and meetings around the Northern Territory – including to attend the rural show circuit, “official” pool openings and footy grand finals.
just before the 2024 Aug Asteroid Hit of a Election wiped them dinosaurs out!

And the CLP do not want to pay the Firies incorrectly calculated wages??

  4. They can still afford to keep paying “it is time for me to move on ! ” tantrum and desk banging Andrew Kirkman his full salary until his contract runs out in August together with the agreed payments made to the two staff at least who issued general protections claims against him in the Federal Circuit Court. The settlements are subject to confidentiality and NDA agreements and were reached to avoid having the matters go to public hearing and to prevent Kirkman having to be subject to cross examination. In one of his earlier cases which the NT Government also lost the judge actually included a section of transcript in his decision where the advocate for the claimant drew Kirkman’s conduct in the witness box probably clenching his fists or banging them on the witness box to the Judge’s attention.
Readers will also recall that in addition this and seeking a pay increase for his friend Alistair Kirkman also was responsible for managing the Indigenous Construction Industry Employment Program which was massively rorted by construction companies. When does this public benevolence to Kirkman and his friends and family stop? Pay the firies what they are owed just as the other NTPS employees who were ripped off through the payroll system have been back paid!
