Five youths aged between 13 and 15 who allegedly broke into homes and stole cars during a crime spree across Darwin while out on bail have been arrested, NT Police said.

Strike Force Trident detectives arrested the teens in Nightcliff yesterday, after it’s alleged the group committed a series of property crimes in Cullen Bay, Durack and Nightcliff.

A 13-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl will be dealt with through the provisions of the Youth Justice Act, police said, while three others have been charged with criminal offences.

One 13-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful entry, one count of aggravated use of a motor vehicle, stealing and serious breach of bail.

A 15-year-old male is facing similar charges, as well as resisting police and driving unlicensed.

Another 13-year-old is facing the same charges as the first 13-year-old, but with an added count of criminal deception.

The three were remanded to appear in court today.

Detective senior sergeant Mark Bland said investigations were continuing to find “outstanding offenders”.
