A Corrections officer is in Royal Darwin Hospital after being assaulted in Holtze prison on Tuesday.
United Workers Union NT secretary Erina Early confirmed the victim was a long term officer who was assaulted with a crutch by a prisoner.

I can’t believe that guarding prisoners by an experienced officer would come to that. Allowing a prisoner that has a potential weapon in their possession is a lapse in prisoner management.
