NT correctional officers have rejected the government’s pay offer in an enterprise agreement ballot, the United Workers Union has said, while Corrections Minister Gerard Maley said the government would continue to negotiate in good faith.

The 2025–2029 Enterprise Agreement revised offer featured a total salary increase of 12 per cent, or about 12.5 per cent compounded, over four years, alongside an enhanced wellness allowance.

  1. Not good for corrections employees, not good for
prisoners, not good for the Government. Solution- sit down and negotiate In
    good faith.

    • Charlie, the big problem is that there is no correction. This crazy belief in rehabilitation with kindness is destroying the NT. Get rid of this lot and get some tough people in, turn these resorts into harsh prisons

  2. Someone needs to give Hurwood a definition of good faith bargaining. This is possibly the worst negotiating period ever seen from the OCPE. The fact she is taking everythjng to fair work speaks volumes about her ability to do her job. Id be reviewing her contract.

Where isnthe minsiter in all of this?
