Former Anindilyakwa Land Council chair T Wuramaarrba was added to a “significant Territorians” list this year, which is why he is being given a state memorial, the Chief Minister said, despite the activities of the land council under his control currently the subject of an independent federal investigation into alleged corruption.
The scandal was raised in a petition by signed by 235 Groote Eylandt traditional owners and has since been referred to the National Anti Corruption Commission.
