Police have charged three men following a fight and the subsequent running down of a man with a LandCruiser on Mitchell Street, which then crashed into Six Tanks Brewery on Sunday morning.
Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Malogorski said the three men were aged 25, 28 and 32.
He said they were allegedly involved in a fight before the 28-year-old ran off and allegedly got into his LandCruiser and drove onto the footpath where the 25-year-old and 32-year-old were on Mitchell St about 3am.
Act Supt Malogorski said he allegedly hit the 25-year-old man before crashing into the front of Six Tanks Brewery. He said the 25-year-old had minor injuries and was arrested at the scene along with the 32-year-old.
The driver was arrested after being taken to Royal Darwin Hospital Act Supt Malogorski said.
He said the 28-year-old man was charged with three counts of recklessly endangering life, one count of recklessly endangering serious harm, one count of dangerous driving, one count of intention to cause serious harm, one count of criminal damage.
There was also a charge of what was described as “driving high range”.
Act Supt Malogorski said he was to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
The 25-year-old man has been issued a summons for one count of engaging in violent conduct, one count of affray and one count of fighting in a public place, Act Supt Malogorski said.
He also said a 32-year-old has been issued a summons for two counts of engaging in violent conduct, once count of affray, and one count of fighting in a public place.
