  1. This is not the first Lawyer or Senior Lawyer that has been done for DUI.
I am surprised that DUI charges do not affect their Legal Registration.

Dont you have to be of good character or something?

    • I see no evidence Jon had to supply a urine specimen for testing. Sad

      • Not trying to influence a police officer doing his duty? Give us a break! What hope for ethical Territory Institutions?

    • Anyone can get caught drink driving if they abandon their responsibility and try their luck. It’s not a bad character issue like, say, robbing a bank or sexual assault.

  2. At first l was disgusted, albeit thinking nothing would happen to him.
The police officer was respectful and possibly more mindful of how inebriated people act more probably different from that which they might act unaffected by alcohol.
Mr Tippets letter to the NT Independant, is the real Mr Tippets and a better man than that in the video. Ownership, responsibility and apology- Are each of us capable or known to have those traits!
Cop it, own it and get on with life!

  3. What this demonstrates is without the NT Independent Jon Tippett & Peter Maley would have kept this crime secret by colluding with Darwin mainstream media including the NT News, Darwin ABC & Channel 9. By burying the story the legacy press-titutes would stop reputational damage, public humiliation & shaming designed to disrupt job prospects. NT Law Society is just another corrupt NTG Networked organisation in charge of a fake judicial system. This story is in the public interest so well done NT Independent.

  4. He should have asked for a blood test from his toe, which might have gotten him a lower reading. Haven’t his clients taught him anything?

    • That is a myth. Refer to Henry’s law of anatomy.

  5. What a disgrace. Entitled, grubby little man supported by corrupt media and judicial system. So he was allowed to continue drinking and driving through the Christmas period and put public at risk.

Tippet showed his ethics in this dealing. And that officer showed his ignorance of the law he supposedly upholding.
