The NT Government awarded 24 contracts in the last week to a total of $13.2 million with the largest being awarded to GK Painting Contractors Pty Limited for Panel Contract for Responsive, Vacate and Grounds Maintenance Services to Urban Housing and Government Employee Housing in Tennant Creek and Elliott Townships for a Period of 36 Months in Tenant Creek Region.

The NT Government has approved Beetaloo fracking, despite its own report revealing it had not commenced emissions offset discussions with the Federal Government, offsets that could account for 22 per cent of Australia’s total emissions, while its independent oversight officer said the government had not met the Pepper Inquiry offsets recommendation and emissions remained “an unacceptable risk”.

Feds pledge $3.8 billion to upgrade key military bases across the north

The Federal Albanese Government will be spending $3.8 billion over the next four years to upgrade Defence bases across northern Australia, including two air bases, two naval bases, and the Robertson Barracks in the NT, following the release of the National Defence Strategic Review, although it was not disclosed how much of that is new money and how much is already committed.
