The mother of a young man who was stabbed to death while doing his job at a Darwin bottleshop has criticised Chief Minister Natasha Fyles for “minimising and downplaying” her son’s death while dodging questions about the crime crisis at Estimates and failing to take meaningful action to keep the community safe.
Samara Laverty wrote a Facebook post addressed to Ms Fyles following her performance at Estimates hearings on Monday, saying her son Declan’s death should be the “catalyst for change that you refuse to admit needs to happen”.
