The Barkly Regional Council acting chief executive officer has left the job without notice, the council has said, in the latest leadership change at the troubled council.
Acting Mayor Greg Marlow said in a statement on Friday that acting CEO Russell Anderson had resigned from council on an unspecified day that week and was serving his last day.
He said he was “surprised” by Mr Anderson’s departure, however said he “completely understands his circumstances”.
Mr Marlow told NT Independent Mr Anderson said in his letter of resignation he was leaving for private reasons, and he had respected the privacy.
