NT’s deep integrity crisis will not be fixed by new integrity commission

EDITORIAL: The Northern Territory’s public integrity bodies’ ongoing dysfunction is due in part to the CLP Government’s own integrity failures, its insistence on bypassing democratic standards and its stubborn refusal to recognise investment in accountability is crucial to the future of the Territory instead of viewing transparency as a threat to its day-to-day business model.

‘It diminishes confidence’: NT EPA chair’s undisclosed perceived conflict of interest with gas lobbyist firm raised

An MLA, a national integrity body and the Environment Centre are calling for action to be taken against the head of the NT Environment Protection Authority after it was revealed on Friday that he did not disclose a perceived conflict of interest he had by working for a lobbyist firm that did work for the co-owner of the Darwin Liquified Natural Gas plant, the gas plant he made key decisions about after it was found to be leaking methane.
