The ADF has successfully fired a ballistic missile between two NT Defence bases for the first time on Australian soil as part of the recently concluded Exercise Talisman Sabre.

The ATACMS (Army tactical missile system) long-range surface-to-surface missile was transported to the Delamere Air Weapons Range south of Katherine using a Hercules C130 from Central Queensland.
