The Darwin Airport has banned Australia Institute advertisements which point out gas companies Santos and Inpex get Australia’s gas for free, which the institute has claimed was done in part because those companies advertise with the airport.
The banning of the ads comes as the head of the United Nations recently called for a worldwide ban on fossil fuel advertising, a ban France implemented in 2022.
What a load of codswallop,
Australia institute = Left wing research group. Any royalties for INPEX are from offshore gas which is Commonwealth jurisdiction as with any other offshore oil and gas. Their ads saying the NT gets nothing are true but misleading.
