UPDATED: NT Police have arrested the latest escaped prisoner following a fresh manhunt, after apprehending two others who broke out of jail over the weekend.

Roy Young, 29, absconded from the Royal Darwin Hospital on Monday.

Police said in a statement that Young was being treated at RDH for an undisclosed medical condition “and placed on a general leave permit with supervision handed to RDH staff” when he escaped on Monday evening.

Police said hospital staff contacted NT Corrections around 7:20pm Monday night after staff could not find Young on the premises.

In a statement released Tuesday evening, police said they had apprehended Young, but provided no details.

“Police would like to thank the members of public who provided information,” the statement said.

The Monday escape from custody came as two other prisoners escaped from Holtze on Saturday night, with the police not informing the public until Monday afternoon. Both of those men were apprehended Tuesday morning.
