UPDATED: Local Government Minister Chanston Paech has provided a vague statement about why he chose to suspend the Coomalie Community Government Council members and put the council under official management.

In a statement on Tuesday morning. after the decision was published in the NT Government Gazette on Monday, Mr Paech accused the council of having “deficiencies”, a description which followed the LGANT press release about the decision on Monday afternoon, referring to allegations of “inappropriate behaviour”.
