A 38-year-old Alice Springs man, who had been on the loose for nearly a month after allegedly injuring another motorist in a vehicle collision, has been arrested and charged, NT Police said.
On August 28, at around 2:00am, the alleged offender was driving a red Toyota Hilux that crashed into a silver Holden Commodore at speed at the Flynn Drive Sports Oval car park, according to police.
The occupant of the Commodore suffered minor injuries while the driver of the Hilux fled with the vehicle before dumping it in another neighbourhood.
The man had been described as Caucasian in appearance with fair complexion, graying hair, solid build, 178 centimetres tall, and is aged in his late 30s.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said police located and arrested the man at a residence in Braitling on Friday. He remains in custody and is expected to be charged later on Friday.
Sgt Phillips said information from the public had been helpful in locating the alleged offender.
