An alleged Tennant Creek drug dealer, 23, has been busted for drugs and child sex offences involving a 15-year-old girl, authorities said, after finding an “unsolicited sexual photograph” on his phone.

Detective Sergeant Marek Hutchinson-Goncz said the 23-year-old man sent the “unsolicited sexual photograph” to the teen 10 days ago, which was discovered after police seized the man’s phone yesterday.

When detectives from the Tennant Creek Criminal Investigation Branch confiscated the phone, they also found evidence that the man had been involved in the illicit drug supply across the Tennant Creek region.

Police also searched his residence and found “a quantity” of cannabis and money, but did not provide amounts.

The man has been charged with indecent dealing with a child under 16 years, commercial supplying of a schedule two drug, and possession of tainted property. The latter charge was not explained by police.

He was scheduled to appear at the Tennant Creek Local Court today.

“Sexual offences such as this are taken incredibly seriously,” Sgt Hutchison-Goncz said. “His actions have caused long lasting damage and he will face court for it.

“The fact that this man has also been allegedly supplying illicit substances into the wider community is reprehensible.”
