Directors who were at the Northern Aboriginal Australian Justice Agency when the organisation’s chief executive officer was unlawfully sacked have now left the board, with the size of the board cut in half and the constitution changed at its recent annual general meeting, following a threat by the NT Attorney-General to remove funding if the directors did not resign.
Calls for the board members to stand down or be sacked had been made since at least August, but the scrutiny intensified after NAAJA issued an extraordinary public apology to chief executive officer Priscilla Atkins on November 20, following the Federal Court finding the board unfairly sacked her.
Thank heavens that God awful board has resigned!!
however that wont save NAAJA from being totally bankrupted in payouts and legal fees!
I wait in earnest to see which mates on other boards snap up the totally shamed former NAAJA board members!
