A woman securing her child into her vehicle at a Gregory Terrace carpark in Alice Springs just after noon on Monday was allegedly indecently assaulted by a male youth, with police now calling for the public’s help to identify the male.
Police said the incident occurred around 12:10pm at a car park on Gregory Terrace. It was unclear why it was not made public until late Tuesday.
The victim was putting her child in her vehicle when an unknown male “approached her and indecently assaulted her”, police said in a statement.
“The offender was allegedly in the company of two other males, with all three fleeing on foot.”
Police attended the scene and launched an investigation.
Police said the offender is described as “a male youth of Aboriginal appearance, wearing a red and black ‘Jordan 23’ basketball jersey/singlet, long black pants and a black cap with white writing”.
