EXCLUSIVE: The NT Police top brass is currently under investigation by a senior member of the Australian Federal Police, the NT Independent can reveal, who was recently sworn in to conduct a probe into “allegations against a number of people up on the top floor”.
The investigation comes amid the fallout of the flawed Justice Alan Blow review into questionable police senior appointments that despite not functioning as a proper inquiry – which the public was promised by the Chief Minister – nevertheless uncovered turmoil in the top ranks last October, with still unresolved accusations of cover-ups, incompetence, lying, improper promotion of friends and mismanagement of conflicts of interest.
Well it’s a good thing all the NCO’s and plebs keep the NT Police Force functioning, as best as they can, because all the brass are too busy backstabbing and undermining each other. What a damn shame and embarrassment, but also a disgrace.
Now understand why Kershaw left his AFP position early. Not a good look for them.
Anyone see the irony – you can’t get a straight answer from police! A competent ICAC could investigate – but as the Chief Minster has correctly asserted – that entity is dysfunctional and incompetent. Is there a potential solution? – An independent inquiry under the Inquiries Act with wide terms of reference in the public interest? Will it happen……..?
Why doesn’t this august body look at the sponsorship deals done by both the Top Brass and the NT Police Association with certain local businesses
