Twelve people have been arrested, mostly young teens, following multiple stolen car chases across the Darwin area on Sunday morning, NT Police said, including one incident that saw the police’s dog operations unit vehicle rammed by car thieves during a pursuit.

Police said the first incident occurred around 2:15am, when reports were received that a Toyota Hilux was stolen from Farrar Boulevard home and driven through a property gate, which police later located on Coonawarra Road in Winnellie.
