As part of this year’s Northern Territory Resources Week, Informa Connect Australia is hosting the NT Clean Energy & Decarbonisation Forum on September 18 and 19 at the Darwin Convention Centre.
The Northern Territory is at the forefront of Australia’s transition to sustainable energy, firmly committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 through significant investments. The NT Clean Energy & Decarbonisation Forum gathers primary energy and resource stakeholders, highlighting clean energy projects and initiatives. It serves as a platform to discuss the decarbonisation efforts underway in the mining and gas industries.
The forum also showcases ways for the mining and onshore gas sectors to manage their environmental impact better while supporting stakeholder engagement and regional development.
Key themes to be covered in 2024 include:
- Realising a new energy future
- Energy transition towards net-zero
- Decarbonisation – a Territory and global priority
- Environmental innovation
- Environmental stewardship, clean energy supply chain, and the circular economy
Participants will be joined by outstanding high-level speakers from government and industry, which include: TE H2 Australia’s head of development Rontheo Van Zyl, INPEX VP for growth Steven Ovenden, Middle Arm and Gas Manufacturing director Dr Howard David Smith, CSIRO’s Geochemistry, Geosystems & Geodata lead Andrew Ross, NT Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics senior director Skefos Tsoukalis, Desert Springs Octopus co-chairman Bevan Mailman, and Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water Electricity Division GM Luana Cormac.
