There have been 1352 Year 12 students, or 79 per cent of all eligible students, achieve their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training in 2022, with a top ATAR score of 99.95, the Education Minister has announced.

Education Minister Eva Lawler said the Territory’s top student was Alishba Saeed from Darwin High School, who achieved the score of 99.95.

She said 79 per cent of all eligible students had achieved a NTCET in 2022.

The total who received their NTCET was down on the 2021 figure of 1423 students, and 1610 students in 2020.

Ms Lawler said this year 228 Indigenous students completed school, including 70 students studying in their remote home communities, and six who are the first graduates of Laynhapuy Homeland School in East Arnhem land.

The Territory’s top achievers were presented at a reception in Parliament House on Monday morning.
