A Territory refrigeration worker suffered burn injuries and was nearly electrocuted while cleaning a newly installed chiller’s electrical cubicle with still-live cables, according to a preliminary NT WorkSafe investigation.
NT WorkSafe found that three workers were working on the chiller that has been imported into Australia last month at an undisclosed location in the NT, with two of them working on the chiller’s programmable logic controller, while the other worker was cleaning rust on several cable lugs and terminals using a drill with an attached wire brush.
