A forklift incident at the Katherine Woolworths that resulted in serious injuries to a motorcycle rider has led NT WorkSafe to charge the supermarket giant with various work health breaches that could see it hit with a maximum penalty of $4.5 million.
NT WorkSafe said a worker at the supermarket chain’s Katherine store was operating a forklift in July 2025 when they attempted to drive the forklift across a public road at the same time a delivery truck was entering the loading dock, leading to a collision with an oncoming motorcyclist.
