Police are looking for a male who allegedly broke into a woman’s house, attempted to hit her with a hammer, and stole from her, but have given the public no description of the alleged offender.
NT Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 8.20pm on Sunday police received a report from a 63-year-old woman who alleged that a male, who was armed with a hammer, had broken into her Larapinta house through a window.
“The offender allegedly threatened the victim before attempting to strike her with the hammer. The offender allegedly stole the victim’s purse containing personal items and fled the scene,” Mr Wilton said.
“It is believed another unknown male was outside the residence during the incident.”
Mr Wilton said the woman was not injured but police gave no description of the alleged offender.
Police are asking anyone with information, including CCTV or dash cam footage, to phone them on 131 444 (quote reference P24261944), or make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or making a report through the website.

NT Police Commissioner not that bothered as he still wants to put a hotel on his ‘The Gap’ property as he battles to keep his pot of money in the Territory Response Group’s (TRG) ‘Black Monopoly’ competition this year.
