A 32-year-old woman was taken to hospital on Tuesday night after being stabbed in the stomach at the Palmerston bus depot, which NT Police said was a domestic violence incident, that involved the suspect also threatening security guards with a knife.
The man, 56, threatened the guards with the knife when they intervened but they were able to subdue him before police arrived, police said in a statement.
The woman was treated in hospital for a laceration to her stomach after being stabbed with the knife.
The man remains in custody and is expected to be charged later today, police said.
“Police are calling for any witnesses to the incident to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10308096,” police said in the statement.
