Woman sexually assaulted in early morning incident in Alice Springs

NT Police are searching for a male who allegedly indecently assaulted a female in her 40s who was walking near Anzac Hill in Alice Springs around 6:30am on Sunday morning.

The victim was with two friends at the time of the incident.

Police said a group of six males, described as Aboriginal in appearance and believed to be in their teens, crossed the Stuart Highway to a nearby carpark on Schwarz Crescent, where they allegedly approached the victim as she walked past them.

“One of the males allegedly indecently assaulted the victim before the group fled the scene in a northeast direction,” police media director Mark Wilton said in a statement.

“Police are urging anyone with information, including with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area during the time of the incident, to contact police on 131 444. Anonymous reports can be made to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via https://crimestoppersnt.com.au/.”
