NT Police are searching for a “young male” who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on an Alice Springs street at 6am this morning.
Police said in a statement that the woman was approached by the male while walking along the causeway on Schwartz Crescent around 6am, who continued to follow her towards Sturt Terrace and Giles Street.
It was there that he allegedly grabbed the woman and exposed himself before fleeing the area on what police described as a “blue bike with black handlebars”.
A description of the offender was not provided.
“Detectives from the Alice Springs Criminal Investigation Branch are requesting residents to review their CCTV footage for persons in the area at the time and to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference 10502187,” the police statement said.
