A woman is in a critical condition in hospital, a man has minor injuries, and two dogs are dead, after being hit by a vehicle at Bees Creek, NT Police have said.

Police media manager Margaret McKeown said in a statement, police were investigation after the woman and man, and their dogs, were struck about 5:20am while walking on Bees Creek Rd in Bees Creek Tuesday morning.

“The man suffered minor injuries while the woman suffered serious injuries and was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition,” she said.

“Both dogs were found deceased at the scene.”

Ms McKeown said the driver stopped at the scene and returned a negative alcohol breath test but a crime scene has been declared and the Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating.

Traffic is expected to diverted from Bees Creek Rd until later Tuesday, she said.
