A 34-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a man outside a Mitchell Street bar on Saturday night, NT Police said.
The 49-year-old man was rushed to hospital shortly after 11pm and had to undergo emergency surgery.
The woman was located near the scene and “arrested soon after”, police said in a statement. She was later charged with unlawfully causing serious harm.
“Paramedics transported the 49-year-old man to Royal Darwin Hospital,” said Acting Senior Sergeant Sally Nicholas.
“He has since undergone surgery and is assisting police with the investigation.
“A 34-year-old woman arrested on the scene has been charged with one count of unlawfully cause serious harm. She was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court on Monday 8 August.”
Police did not say if the woman and the man knew each other.
