A woman was “assaulted with an edged weapon” in her bedroom after being woken by intruders, leaving her with unspecified lower body injuries that were treated in Royal Darwin Hospital, with her attackers still on the run, NT Police said.

NT government crime marketing manager Sita Bacher said in a statement that just before 6am Monday, three people broke into a Brazil St Karama home armed with an “edged weapon”, and “assaulted” the female occupant who had been asleep in her bedroom.
