A proposed residential development by Brooking Design Architects, currently at the proposal exhibition stage until February 3, may well be the coolest modern architecturally-designed home in Darwin – and it comes with 10 toilets.

The home, which boasts uninterrupted harbour views, will be located at 120 East Point Road, Fannie Bay with a total land area of 1,591 sqm with a building floor space of 908 sqm.

Fannie Bay’s iconic East Point Road is the most privileged waterfront location on Darwin’s Golden Mile, prized for its stunning ocean views, and magnificent homes, and proximity to the city.

In addition to the glorious sunsets, the property is only a short distance to East Point Reserve which has a wonderful array of fauna and flora, as well as Lake Alexander.

Top real estate agents say the area is the home to the most prestigious real estate in Darwin and much sought after but very seldom on the market.

The standard of quality and detail within this future residence provides a level of luxury previously unseen in Darwin.

Under Brooking Design Architects’ development proposal submitted to the Department of Infrastructure, Planning, and Logistics, the two-story residence will come with a circular driveway; five bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, with a balcony for the master bedroom having; two kids’ rooms; a theatre room; a lift to service both house levels; a library and a study area; a large second-floor alfresco balcony; and a total 10 bathrooms and toilets.

The house comes with huge open-plan dining and kitchen areas. A modern designed kitchen with an outdoor terrace comes complete with a wine cellar and a frying room.

The property, aimed at creating the perfect ambience for entertaining, also comes with multiple entertaining areas; two guest suites, each with its own balconies to accommodate guests; manicured gardens and spaces; and a stunning elevated infinity pool with an open terrace fronted by a vast ocean view.

Outside the residence features a car garage large enough to house at least four cars.

There is also a big work shed complete with pantry … and a toilet.

According to CoreLogic data, the top residential sale along East Point Road was in 2004 when a house was sold for $6,495,000.

Perth-based Brooking Design Architects’ director Tom Brooking was also the architect for a multimillion-dollar mega mansion overlooking Darwin’s harbour at 3 Larrakeyah Terrace in Larrakeyah in 2017.
