A serious police incident in Palmerston on Saturday night involving an “armed offender” that lasted seven hours – and was not reported to the public – caused massive disruptions to already strained officers responding to general duties, the police union boss has said.
NT Police Association president Nathan Finn was on Mix 104.9 on Monday, after the union had issued a press release critical of Labor Member for Karama Ngaree Ah Kit’s comments on the radio program on Friday, in which she suggested that if people see kids wandering the streets at night they should call the 131 444 police assistance number.
