NT Police have released CCTV footage of an aggravated burglary that occurred at the government armoury in Katherine East on Saturday, October 11, as they continue to appeal to the public for information to aid in their ongoing investigation.

It was the second break-in and robbery at the armoury in three months.

Around 8 am, four unknown offenders unlawfully entered two government community service buildings and the armoury located in the industrial area, police said.

The video shows the intruders dressed in dark clothing with torches calmly walking around the facility looking for things.

One of the people appears to be carrying a weapon.

Police said the intruders stole ammunition, but did not disclose how much.

The group also broke into a co-located Northern Territory Emergency Services office, where they caused significant damage to vehicles and equipment, including emergency vehicles, which officials said would severely hinder volunteers’ ability to respond to emergencies in the area.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 444, quoting reference number NTP2500101464. Anonymous reports can be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via https://crimestoppersnt.com.au/.
