Two businesses in Katherine were robbed with weapons by different groups of kids, while a taxi driver in the town was bashed by a passenger and had his car stolen, NT Police said.

Senior Sergeant Warren Scott said in a statement that police alleged that just before 3am on Saturday five youths smashed their way through the front window and doors of a Katherine service station along Bicentennial Road, with one of the group armed with an edged weapon.
