When was the last time the government were tough on crime?
Certainly hasn’t been for the last 6 years or so.
Suspended sentences on suspended sentences, police not responding to calls, police even telling me that they won’t bother trying to catch the criminals who robbed and assaulted me, even though they knew who they were, because the courts just keep letting them out and it’s a waste of their time.
Lock violent criminals away for 10 years at least and lock reoffenders away for ever. Violent criminals in jail don’t commit crimes against the general public.
If not, the public will be forced to take matters into their own hands. I won’t be calling the police again, that’s for sure.
This so called study, is done by a lobbyist group with an agenda. They only interviewed 300 hand picked people who clearly do not live below the Berrimah line. I’m surprised you guys even ran with this story, it is pure NT Labor talking points, and propaganda. When in the last 6yrs have NT Labor ever been tough on crime. They HAVE NOT. Hence why we are in this situation now.
Im really shocked you guys even went with this story. This is the HEADLINE story the NTNews went with Monday morning instead of mentioning the crime rampage that occurred in Alice over the wkend ( to fit in line with the NTgov lies that crimes eased up)!
Total BS from a leftwing lobby group, as the Mayor of Alice said” the social justice warriors can sit down and shut up”. because they have been driving Government policy for years and are directly responsible for the mess we have now.
Violent crime is crippling the NT, Alice Springs in particular. How can Government standby while businesses such as Target (and possibly Kmart) plan to leave Alice Springs. What about the GST these businesses bring to the NT? Businesses leave (online shopping only alternative), so many houses on the market in Alice Springs. And they still prevaricate over bail laws. When will they realise violent crime is killing this place and unless people feel their children and themselves are safe people will leave. I’ll be interested to know what the population drop will be this year.
