A Tennant Creek senior who was struck in the head with an iron bar during a violent home invasion in December was rushed to Darwin to stop bleeding on his brain after days of delays to proper health treatment, a source has said.

On Saturday December 30, NT Police issued a press release stating that at about 5am, a group of five males forced their way into the caravan the 66-year-old man was living in in Tennant Creek, assaulting him with an iron bar, after demanding money.
