Police are calling for information regarding three stolen vehicles in Alice Springs which they said were being driven dangerously around town last night with the occupants allegedly throwing rocks at citizens and the police, while also trying to ram police vehicles.

One 14-year-old boy was arrested while police continue to search for the others.

Police said that a blue Mazda CX-5 was reported stolen from a residence in Braitling on Sunday night, while a black Jeep Grand Cherokee was also reported stolen from the Alice Springs CBD some time on Monday.

Both vehicles were observed driving dangerously and throwing rocks at police throughout Monday night.

Another vehicle, a white Jeep Patriot, was also reported stolen late Monday night in Desert Springs with its occupants also reportedly throwing rocks at the public.

“We are urging residents to review their CCTV, particularly in Desert Springs and Braitling, for footage of the stolen Mazda and both Jeeps,” Detective Senior Sergeant Robert Kent said.

All three vehicles attempted to ram police vehicles throughout the CBD.

A 14-year-old male was arrested by detectives from Strike Force Viper in connection to the incident and will be charged with various offences today.

“Last night we saw repeated dangerous behaviour that was targeted at police and some members of the public. Forensics is currently being conducted on the stolen vehicles as detectives continue their work to identify everyone involved,” Senior Sergeant Kent said.

Investigations are ongoing.

People with information are being asked to call police on 131 444, quoting reference 10506980. The public can also report anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

  1. Yesterday

    Alice Springs Court House

NAAJA ( North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency)
Lawyers were with youth they were representing upstairs at the court house
Meanwhile another group of youths they are alleged to be representing broke into the lawyers offices
The youths allegedly stole car keys
These keys belonged to a NAAJA lawyer
The youths found the vehicle a black Jeep Cherokee and took it

It was driven around the CBD last night
    Allegedly ramming police cars
Youths were also alleged to have been targeting police with rocks

The car – one of three that run rampant on our streets last night later went out to the links
It is alleged the youths broke into a house and trashed it

POLICE MEDIA only made a public announcement about this after the site Action For Alice made the public aware of these offences. Yet again Police Media are trying to cover up crime occurring in Alice, and only reporting it, after it has been made public by Action For Alice!

    • Thanks Steve Nyeah, you are correct in your assessment of Police Media who continue to push the NT Labor Government narrative the everything is “going well”. 🙄
Any Alice Springs local with brains knows that’s BS 💩🤬

  2. I hope the lawyers recluse themselves from defending the ones who stole their car and broke into their office. They must been to that office before.
Meanwhile the police have deployed stop sticks on Katherine River bridge this morning.
